Barb has spent over 30 years leading high-demand for-profit and not- for- profit institutions in the rapidly changing health care industry. For the past decade, she has served in a variety of senior executive roles for a major Pennsylvania-based health system where she was responsible for overseeing the daily operations, strategic vision, financial planning and improvement initiatives for hospitals, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation facilities, post-acute services, hospital operations, governance, home care, durable medical equipment, hospice, remote patient management and the skilled nursing preferred provider collaboratives. As senior vice president and president of specialty services and a surgical hospital, she has led system-wide continuous improvement through her executive oversight of new lean initiatives. She has also served on many operational and strategic executive steering committees on a range of strategic concerns from patient experience to operations and strategic planning. During her tenure, facilities under her leadership achieved many awards and recognitions for patient experience, value, excellence and ranking in the top quartile nationally.
Prior to her service as a senior executive, Barb held a variety of roles at a rehabilitation hospital, including as director of patient care services, regional nurse executive, and director of nursing. She led her facility to a top ten ranking among 94 hospitals multiple times for clinical quality indicators, led hospital operations and care quality including nursing, therapy and multiple ancillary departments and served on hospital executive team and member of Governing Board. She also provided on site mentorship to eight hospital Directors of Nursing in Pennsylvania. She began her career in a variety of frontline nursing and management roles, including as a risk manager.
A dedicated mentor and senior executive, Barb is an active panelist and frequent speaker at conferences and organizations for health care executives and women leaders. She has a BSN in Nursing from Misericordia University.
